Rotary Exchangees (Rotex)

An initiative of former exchange students

ROTEX a union of former exchangees (Rebounds), who have participated in exchange programs of Rotary International. ROTEX exists all over Germany, and also in other countries - more or less organized.

ROTEX 1860 is joined by rebounds of the 1860 district. You'll get more detailed information at their Website www.rotex.1860.de. They are a rather casual, non-obligational community. Motivation and sel-consciousness are based on positive, overwhelming experiences from the exchange in foreign clubs and host families. A German meeting therefore created the motto "Let us give back, what they did for us!"

Membership in ROTEX 1860 is not mandatory. Nevertheless, rebounds who are engaged and accept responsibility commit themselves to membership. Sending clubs and exchange offices welcome any commitment to ROTEX, especially when fresh exchange experiences can be communicated.

According to gained experience, ROTEX and the Youth Exchange Officer select guest countries together. Thus ROTEX can offer a platform to know country-specific issues ahead of applications and exchange commitments. Additionally, ROTEX 1860 provides a "hands-on" support for the district. They organized events and actions for our Inbounds, e.g. educational surveys, leisure opportunities like skiing, and integrated the Newcomers into our district

Although District 1860 cannot claim the support of ROTEX 1860, the Rebounds' Commitment is worth to be mentioned explicitely. Their personal engagement breathes life into the idea of ROTEX.
